His Eminence Gyana Vajra Rinpoche is a senior lineage holder of the Sakya Order of Tibetan Buddhism, and the younger son of His Holiness Sakya Trizin. He received decades of rigorous training from His Holiness himself, as well as many other lamas such as H.E. Chogye Trichen Rinpoche, H.E. Luding Khen Rinpoche, The Very Venerable Khenpo Appey Rinpoche, and the late Khenpo Migmar Rinpoche. H.E. Gyana Vajra Rinpoche completed his monastic ritual training at Sakya Monastery, and his philosophical training at Sakya College.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF VENERABLE LAMA KALSANG GYALTSEN

Venerable Lama Kalsang Gyaltsen is a widely recognized and accomplished teacher and translator of Tibetan Buddhism. Born in Tibet , he is learned in sutra and tantra and has spent long periods in meditative retreat.  Venerable Lama Kalsang Gyaltsen received ordination and advanced religious training from leaders of the Sakya Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, including His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche and His Holiness the Sakya Trizin.

For the past two decades, he has taught the Dharma widely in Southeast Asia and the United States .  In 1986, he established Sakya Phuntsok Ling Center for Tibetan Buddhist Study and Meditation in Silver Spring , Maryland . In April, 2001, he established Tsechen Kunchab Ling Temple in Orange County , New York as the Seat of the Sakya Order of Tibetan Buddhism in the United States .

Venerable Lama Kalsang Gyaltsen is also Co-Chair of the International Buddhist Committee of the Washington D.C. area, which he founded in 1987. He has also translated and published numerous Buddhist texts and rituals from Tibetan to English, and is the Editor in Chief of ChoTrin (Dharma Message) a bi-lingual publication about Sakya Order of Tibetan Buddhism.
